This modern villa, designed by a renowned Australian architect is probably the closest luxury beach villa to historic Galle, only 10 minutes ride away. Ambalama means "resting place" in Singhalese and its intimate design and excellent facilities and services aim to provide guests with a memorable stay.

Unwind in the large open living room looking onto the ocean or relax on sun beds around our large infinity pool. Alternatively we would be happy to arrange for a traditional Sri Lankan massage. We can arrange a variety of massage therapies.

As for dining Ambalama offers a feast of choices; eating at home enjoy international or local cuisine prepared by our in-house chef served by our courteous house boys. Enjoy a BBQ with lobsters caught off the beach or superb fresh fish from the local market caught daily. This is your holiday and, unlike in hotels, you can be involved or not in the cuisine preparation including joining the chef to buy the fresh fish and produce. At Ambalama there are no schedules for mealtimes. Nearby along the coast or in Galle there is excellent choice of restaurants, all within 10-15 minutes drive.

Each bedroom opens onto a lawn terrace affording privacy. The manicured garden fringed by coconut palms is a wonderful place to relax and rest.
